LAURIE ROLLAND
Saltspring Island Potters Guild invites all Clayarters to a rare weekend of
extraordinary pottery and Saltspring hospitality. Join the Saltspring Island
Potters Guild for a workshop with Laurie Rolland. Laurie has taught
extensively and has exhibited her work both in Canada and internationally.
She will focus on handbuilding and numerous decorative techniques she has
developed. You can find her work in"Ceramic Design Book" in Contact
Magazine 1995 spring issue, and in " Wheel Thrown Ceramics" by Don Davis.
She has just received an award at The Ceramics Monthly International
Competition associated with the Nceca Conference in Ohio. There will be an
article on her work In the March Ceramic Monthly.
The workshop will be held at ARTSPRING, our new center for the arts, and
will run from 10 am to 4 pm each day. A slide presentation will cover a
twenty year span of Laurie's work. The weekend begins with a pot luck dinner
Friday eve, March 26th.
