Hi,
I will be heading to Sunny So. Cal. at the end of next month and wondered if
there were any potters of sculptors in the area.

My Dad lives in Perris so that is my main base.
We will be gong to the Adamson House in Santa Monica to check out the tile,
the LA county museum to see Van Gogh's paintings, and the Getty Museum to
see Degas' photos. Are there any pottery/sculpture related shows I should
know about??

Hope to meet some clayarters.

There is more at the LA County Museum than the Van Gogh exhibiiton. The
Japanese House has ceramics, the current exhibit of Western Mexican art has
significant ceramic content and the decorative arts collection has pottery
by George Orr, a wildly talented potter from Biloxi, Mississippi around the
turn of the century. Some of the Orr pots were featured on a recent
broadcast of the Antique Road Show.

If you are going to the Getty, don't miss the ancient pottery. Los Angeles
County Art Museum has a nice collection also.

Robin Hopper has contacted us with a request to put this message on
Clayart in an effort to find Eilene Sky. Can anyone help him?

------------------message-----------

Robin Hopper has been trying to find EILENE SKY, work featured in
the portfolio section of his book "Functional Pottery", and has been
unsuccessful as yet. She used to live in Dallas, moved to Springfield,
Mass., and is understood to have now moved to the New York area. Her
husband's name is BURT SKY and he is in the computer business. Robin
has tried regular tracing systems through Internet, but so far has come
up empty handed. Somebody out there must know where she is. She does
the most wonderful "crazy" work. Robin needs to contact her URGENTLY.
If she could email him at Robin Hopper , Robin
would be ecstatic. Or if anybody knows her whereabouts and could let
him know where he might contact her, that would be great.

Thanks,

RH
