Don't know if this has made the rounds here, but my father just
mailed me a clipping from the Detroit Free Press (Jan 29, 1999)
about a "discovery" in a main entrance of the Detroit Institute of
Arts (American Art Galleries).
Anyhow, workers removed a wall that had been put up in the '60s
and found two ten foot tall niches of ceramic tile created by Mary
Chase Stratton in the '20s. They have been cleaned and are going
to be lighted very nicely according to the article.
Sounds like it's time to revisit the DIA!

Apologies for requesting a repeat of a previous message. Didn't realize my
printer was in a tizzy and didn't print the message. As a snowbird who takes
summer classes at Pewabic, I would be interested in reading the news article.
Would appreciate it if original sender would e-mail the web address to
Lees Studio @ AOL.
