Hi:
I'm trying to make a rolling platform on which to set a kiln( a Skutt
KM714) and stand (the Orton Kilnvent Jr.-which is built into the stand),
so that I can move it into position when needed and store it away after.
I found the rollers, which I plan to mount on a 3/4" plywood platform-
the problem is what do I put on the plywood to prevent a fire.I know
there was a thread on this before, and I have searched the archives, but
I've had no luck, so if anyone has any idea where in the archives the
info might be hiding, or any suggestions as to what I could use for this
purpose? TIA.

Hi,
I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my enquiry about a rolling
kiln stand. I decided to change my plans due to the emphasis on not
using anything flammable too near the kiln. I had a frame made of angle
iron with two swivel/two stationary wheels welded on.The stand with the
Orton Kilnvent Jr. fits nicely onto it so I think it'll do the trick!
I'm really excited about having this little kiln so now I can do tests
without feeling that I have to fill a whole kiln with other things as
well.So I'll be dragging out all those interesting glaze recipes from
Clayart I've been stashing away .Can't wait to see what wonderful things
I can come up with. Thanks again.
