Folks,
I have a friend who is going to be visiting Capetown and Zimbabwe. He is
leaving in a few days.
Can someone help with potters, studios, galleries, etc., for him to visit
while there? Please e mail me directly.

Thanks,

Hi Steven,

I would be pleased to point your friend in the right direction when he
arrives in Cape Town. I live half way between C/Town and Stellenbosch, run
a small gallery and pottery and have many friends and contacts in the
'clay' world in this area. Sorry I can't offer accommodation but a friend
runs a real homely, affordable Backpackers in Stellenbosch.

Contact me @ (021) 881 3921 (no need to dial the code from C/Town) and
Charmain Plummer at Backpackers (021) 887 2020. Or Fax: 887 2021

Hello again,

I rushed off my first reply to your posting without giving too much thought
to your friend's arrangements.
Does he have transport over here? If not I am only 20 mins from the airport
and can collect him from arrivals at Cape Town International if I have the
flight No. etc. I have some free time during the next couple of weeks and
would be able to take him to one or two studios both in the immediate area
and in Cape Town. There are a number of potter's galleries and some
interesting characters to meet. There are a host of weekend craft markets
at this time of year and potters of all persuasions are well represented.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Regards

Ian Dunbar.
