I don't know how much this will help, but some
info
on a Pacifica 800 I bought new in December (so only used it for 2 1/2
month
now). So far I can say that I enjoy working on it. I don't throw pieces
over 10 lbs. so far, and for this the motor does not show any slacking.
The pedal is easy to control, ones you get to know that there is an
'dead' space in the beginning, so a little care needs to be giving when
starting to trim. There is a Pacifia in the College studio I go to,
where the pedal is very hard to control for slow speeds. But for the
size of the motor and the price I think is a real good deal. If money is

not an object, I would have gone with a Shimpo,
just love the response of the pedal to wheel. Found the best price for
the Pacifica at Bennet Pottery in FL paid $695. plus shipping
(1-800-432-0074) Good luck
in finding the best suited wheel for yourself. Gisela--
