A computer-less friend requests I plead for a recipe for a glaze called "Water
Blue", cone 6 oxidation. I searched the archives, I attempted to request info
from the glaze base search thing and zilch.(I don't know any particular
ingredients, special qualities, etc. I know nothing except that it is
blue,...). Thank you to any blue-glaze gurus out there.

occasional stretches.

To Jancy Jaslow,

Here is the recipe for Wright's Water Blue. I got it from Ceramics Monthly,
April 1998.

Wright's Water Blue
Cone 1-6

Lithium Carbonate 3%
Strontium Carbonate 9%
Frit 3110 59%
EPK 12%
Flint 17%
add
Bentonite 2%
Copper Carbonate 5%

A word of warning; I've had a bit of trouble with this glaze at cone 6.
Sometimes it's gorgeous and perfect, but sometimes it forms bubbles. I suspect
that cone 6 is a little above its range even though the recipe indicates it's
for cones 1-6. I am very new to the science of glazemaking but will let you
know if I solve the problem. My professor suggested I try adding some kaolin
but so far my tests have turned out more green than turquoise.

Sorry if you've already gotten many replies to your water blue question; I'm
behind in reviwing my messages ever since NCECA.
