Illinois, Wisconsin area?
Please respond to the list.
TIA

Ron,
Are you doing this workshop? When? Any other info would be
appreciated. Port Chester is downstate, isn't it?

Does anyone know of any glaze formulation workshops anywhere this summer?
Or classes in the fall? I am getting ready to retire from teaching
elementary art in 37 days. Now I want to work on my own art work. I would
really like to take a class on glaze formulation. If you don't know of any
classes or workshops, could you recommned a good easily understood book? I
am mainly interested in oxidation----possibly cone 6 in porcelin or
stoneware, but could vary on the cones. I have an electric kiln, but do not
have access to a gas one, unfortunately.

I am also looking for an oxidation celedon-like glaze at cone 6.

Thanks for any info you could send me. If you'd like, you can e-mail me
privately. syrylyn@gateway.net

The Carolina Clay Guild will host Clayart Glaze Guru Ron Roy for a 3-day
glaze formulation workshop in NC September 15 - 17, 2000. We will be mixing
glazes and firing tests; each participant will bring 3 test tiles of their
own clay. Cost is $100. You can email me direct to register or for more
information. mailto:lpskeen@living-tree.net

Howdy,

Are you ready to hit the road and teach, like a mad scientist, all the
nuances of glaze calculation?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM ONE OLD FART TO ANOTHER.

The guys at Ceramic Services are going to use photos of us using their
kilns and wheel as advertising in Ceramics Monthly if I can get some
clean digital photos. They are also giving people our names, yours and
mine, for teaching workshops. Get ready to work hard like you said you
were working down here. It isn't as bad as you probably thought it would
be, is it?

Lee Burningham

Are you coming down for the raku bash tomorrow?
