Does anyone have a recipe for a Low Fire Oxidation Celadon?
I have been using Duncan's commerical glaze but it's getting too expensive. I
can find plenty of reduction recipies but none for the electric kiln. Also, it
has to be dinnerware safe.

Dee:
We use Batz Maiolica with grey green Mason stains for various hues of
faux celadon at cone 04.

I have two really nice cone 6 oxidation recipes for celadon:
FAUX CELADON
50.0 Soda Feldspar
20.0 Wollastonie
10.0 China clay
10.0 Silica
10.0 Gerstley Borate
add:
0.5 Copper Carbonate
0.2 Black Stain
This Faux Celadon makes a classic turquoise celadon.
CELADON GLOSS
21.0 Gerstley Borate
8.0 Wlllastonite
30.0 N eph.Syn.
10.0 Kaolin
31.0 Flint
for various colors add:
Celadon (came out more greenish when I tested):
0.125 Cobalt Carb.
0.125 Chrome Oxide
Teal blue:
0.5 Cobalt Carb
0.3 Chrome Oxide
Teal green:
0.5 Cobalt Carb.
0.5 Chrome Oxide
Good luck with these, Polly Coe in warm and sunny Mississippi
