hi fellow potters,
I currently am thinking of buying a gas kiln and placing it in a independent
structure in my (very small) backyard.
(Currently I have 3 electrics and a test kiln, in a basement studio,.....and
the longing to go gas is really in the blood). My studio space is limited
so....
Does anyone out there have plans for constructing an independent structure to
house such a kiln?
Also, I am considering having someone build me a minnesota flat top, or
another outdoor gas kiln......so if there are any kiln builders out there,
looking for a project, and you are near the Northern Virginia/Washington,DC
area, please respond.
Depending on costs, etc. I will consider both.

Hi Susan,
My dad had a gas kiln in his backyard. He owns the company (Flat Earth
Clay Works, Inc.)now. Unfortunately I have no idea about any of that
stuff. He is out of town right now - but will be back in the office on
Wednesday, March 31. I will print out your request for info and try to get
back with you next week. He did build it from the ground up, as I recall
it was in a tin metal shed. Anyway I will ask him what he recalls and get
it to you soon.
