Genesis Clay Works on sun 21 mar 99
Hello everyone. I just Got back on clayart, glad to be back.
Last year I posted the results from our annual Pit Fire and boy did I a
lot of responses back. Many of you wanted to know how we did it and some
of you wanted to come to this years. I am sorry to say that after my PC
crashed and with the up grade to windows 95 I lost the e-mail addresses
to those people. So I'm posting the invitation on Clay Art this year
along with the URL to the post I made last year of how we did the
firing.
I do want to say that our pit is only so big and many of the area
potters and ceramic students attend so the is limited space so if you
wish to attend and are not in the central California area PLEASE RSVP as
soon as possible.
We Are in the foot hills 40 mins north of Fresno, 1 hours south of
Yosemity National Park. We can accommodate campers, RVs, and even brave
souls with tents. The nearest hotels would be in fresno.

4th. Annual
Pit Firing
at
Genesis Clay Works
You are cordially invited to participate at our 4th. Annual Pit Firing
on April 24th, and 25th, 1999.
Mr. Jim Shepard of Fresno City College will be our "Pit Master" again
this year.
There is a $8.00 Registration Fee on Saturday. Please bring 1 to 5
pieces of bisque ware to put in the pit and something for potluck
Saturday & Sunday. Any wood you can bring for the pit is welcome. You
may also want to bring lawn chairs or blankets, gloves, sunscreen, a
hat, and rain coat, if it rains, we go for it anyway!
Please, No alcohol. Please, no dogs, we have our own. Thank you.
Sat. 10:00am to ?:?? pm $8.00, Potluck, & Bisque ware
Sun. 11:00am to 4:00pm Potluck
Saturday loading will start 11:00 am. and the pit will be lit at 1:00,
then lunch.
Sunday unloading will begin at 1:00 if the pit is cool enough.
Coffee Cup Exchange 1999
This year we will be having a coffee cup exchange for any artist who
wishes to participate. Bring a coffee cup that you have made with you on
Saturday, we will assign each cup a number when you sign in Saturday
morning. At the end of the day all participants will draw a number at
random to receive their new cup. This is a great and fun way to be able
to own work by other artists. I hope you all choose to be involved in
the exchange.
