Hi, clayarters..
First may I say that I have tested, tested, and am still testing base
glazes to find one that will allow my oxides to run , but still let the
glaze stay on the pot as well.. This was one of my very first questions
when I found clayart.. I believe Tom or Roy sent me to Tony's website, for
which I am very grateful.. I am not a glaze guru.. but have been able to
experiment with some success on stable glazes... But,, I still need a glaze
that lets the oxides "feather" (for lack of a better description). Help!
anyone have one that they could share?? I fire ^6 electric.. Many
thanks...and have enjoyed all posts and I plan to get to Charlotte for
sure.. maybe Denver and look forward to meeting all of you great folks!

Gracie, did any one give you a recipe or a discription of a technique using
glaze washes to get the feathered glazes you wanted? I agree with others
who have written, the usual technique to get the effect you describe is one
glaze over another, usually the best effect is from a colorful matt over a
light colored shiny glaze. Do you still want recipes or are you going to
try using the ones you have already tested over oneanother? Judi B.
