Re: The Dorothy and Walter Auman Memorial Pottery Auction
There is going to be a pottery auction to benefit the North Carolina Pottery
Center at the Holshouser Building at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds on
Saturday, April 24. It begins at noon with lunch and a silent auction. At 2 pm
the live auction starts.
The participating potters read like the who's who of pottery in and outside of
North Carolina. Arbuckle, Bireline, Bringle, Burleson, Coleman, Cushing,
Davis, Finch, Forbes de Soule, Griffith, Hewitt, Holland, Joerling, Lindsey,
MacKenzie, Meyers, Oakley, Oestreich, Owen III, Owens, Peiser, Peters, Reitz,
Soldner, Sueyoshi, Triplet and many others ( whose names I dont readily
recognize through my own lack of knowledge ).
Tickets need to be purchased in advance. I do not know if they need further
donations but I bet they might. For more information call 336-873-8430
The North Carolina Pottery Center is dedicated to promoting pottery and
educating people about our pottery heritage and its importance. When you come
to NCECA in Charlotte, NC in 2001 put it on your must do list.
