Dear Potters,

OK... I'm going to go with the big building instead of the barn. Even though
the horses would have been VERY far from the barn before, during and after
firing, I think more room is better.
But I have another question. There is a big bucket of Mt. St. Helen ash at
the school studio and no one knows what to do with it. Do any of you have a
recipe in which I could use it?

Thanks in advance

Hi!
For me to try
making glaze from St. helens ash(I was told it came from) trying with a
material that came from far away-olmost from the moon! The price was nearly
10$
for 1000Gram.

and I`ll try to work with substitutes wich I bilt with my Glaze Simulator.
First I did and offer to you test the ash by itself! The ash I have is nice
by itself but from the rsulte of the testing,I think It is not from St H.
(too shiny).

I found Old recipes in CM for reduction.I have electric kiln Im tried some
for ^6. one of them was very beautyfull that makes you forget the price!
Those Recipes are in Cm the 1/81 and3/81
The one I liked was "Iron-red spoted glaze" :ASH-90.1

dolomite;9.9

tin:10.5
The original recipe was devloped many years before I thought to"touch"clay.
Thank you Ceramic artist from So far away.
