Wood-Fire Workshop with Diane Kenney and Peg Malloy
June 7-19, 1999
$475 + $75 lab fee

This two-week workshop will be taught by Diane Kenney and Peg Malloy at the
new Carbondale Clay Center. They have taught together several times and
both bring many years of potting experience to this workshop. Stuudents
will be encouraged to work on making well thrown, strong and lively
functional forms for the wood kiln. the workshop will include slide
presentations, throwing demos, supportive help for students, good group pot
talks, and instruction in all aspects of making, glazing and firing pots in
a wood kiln. The group will fire the kiln together and unload the pots on
the last day of the workshop. This is a rare opportunity to experience
two-for-one teachers and fire in their distinctive and wonderful kiln.

Peg Malloy and Diane Kenney, both experienced teachers and potters for many
years, each have studios in the Roaring Fork Valley of the Colorado
Rockies. They share a single chamber Bourry box cross-draft wood kiln they
built together in 1991 and which they fire 3-4 times a year. Peg has been
featured in numerous national shows and publications including Wheel Thrown
Pottery and The Best of Pettery I and II. Diane is also represented
regularly in national shows, was featured in the May 95 issue of Ceramics
Monthly, and the Best of Pottery II. She is also the Director of the
Carbondale Clay Center.
