For the first time since I have been testing glazes, I was absolutely =
ecstatic
when I opened the kiln today. A few questions though regarding the =
following
glazes:

Peachy Keen: I just moved the decimal points to do a test of 100 grams and =
I
came up with a glossy warm (yet dark) medium brown, rather than a peach. =
Any
idea what I did wrong?

Val's Turquoise : I fired to cone 6, and parts of the tiles are a light =
greyish,
with the remainder being a dark brown. Is this a situation where the glaze
needs to sit for a while before you dip?

Falls Creek Shino: I did fairly long dips (10 seconds) and the color is a =
warm
and translucent beautiful dull yellow.

Pete's green: Came out very mottled with parts of the tile being whitish, =
and
the rest being a promising green. This may not be a glaze that is suitable =
for
tiles, because the color came out very streaky. Again, this may be due the =
fact
that I don't let it sit for too long before I dip the tile.

Water blue:This actually came out much more cream with a hint of blue near =
the
edge of any imprint. Not what I expected, but very nice nevertheless. No =
real
difference between a 3 second dip and a 7 second dip.

I guess my major question is, should I be letting these glazes sit for a =
while
before dipping the tiles? I do sieve so I am still a little confused by the
streakiness of some of the tests as indicated above.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated, as always.
