My eye doctor took a look at my eyes and thought that with all the clay
dust he saw in my eyes(=21) I shouldn't be wearing contacts at all.......

Jennifer,

This post has been chewing at me for a couple of days.

You know.............. you might REALLY think about that comment from your
opthomologist. If there is that much clay dust in your eyes ........ how
much are you breathing?=21=21=21=21=21=21=21 Your eyes are on wither side =
of your nose
=3Cg=3E.

It sounds like you might be exposing yourself to more dust in your studio
sitiation than you realize.

Best,

.......................john

Hi John,
This comment from the eye guy came during an exam back in the 70's. Remember
how clueless we were back then?? I went to Goddard College and learned clay
there. We mixed our own clay and glazes all sans masks...I remember a BIG
can of naples yellow that was very popular. We even had a professor from
some big art school in Kansas teaching, so I guess this attitude was
prevelent. No venting around the kilns that I can remember, but they were in
a separate building....When I set up my own studio I wised up and started
working safely. Heck, I won't even let a broom into the studio now! But I
just plugged that eye/dust comment into my internal TRUE FOR ALL ETERNITY
list and there it has stayed.....just checking the list... ;-)
Take Care
Jennifer
