glass firing in l&l

Perhaps somebody else has made more progress than I have with the following
connundrum:

I want to use my L&L for glass firings. I am convinced that the only way
to get even glass firings is by having the lid with the elements in it,
like a glass kiln. L&L sells floors fitted with elements but not lids. I
have talked to them and they insist the floor will not work as a lid and I
believe them, can't have the elements falling out.

Anybody know if I can get a lid with elements in it to fit this kiln?
Anybody using such a kiln, with or without special lid, to fuse glass?

Any observations happily considered.

Hi Eleanora,
Not only can we do this for you, we will love every minute of it. Euclids
has a complete line of glass kilns for slumping, fusing, annealing, sagging
ect... as well as being able to customize any feature on any of our kilns.
Elements in the lid is no problem. Alot of people are buying cone 10
pottery kilns with elements in the lid that have an on/off switch ... this
way the kiln can be used for both pottery & glass.
We have 2 glass fusers & 1 glass blower in our kiln department ... so the
glass kilns get an extra rub with the buffing cloth, so to speak.

Chris....
was wondering if you have controllers for these same glass kilns/furnaces?
How well do they work?
