I am on the board of a local child care center/summer camp. Our camp was
recently torched by arsonists and the only thing that apparently survived
was our old electric kiln. So now the question is, can it be revived? I
have not seen it yet, but I spoke to someone who did and she said that
while it is pretty sooty on the outside, the bricks look fine. Obviously
the controller and any other electronic parts are shot, but I don't know
about the coils. I hope no one has had an experience like this, but if you
have or if you just have any idea about this question I'd like to hear from
you.

Hi Mark,
Under the circumstances you would be best to have either a kiln repair
person or an electrician check out the electrical components. Have a look
in our service directory http://www.euclids.com/servicedir.htm
Was the kiln sprayed with water? If so, it will have to be heated gradually
to get all of that moisture out.
Most likely, the interior of the kiln will be fine (bricks, elements).
It is hard to get the "fire" smell out. It may be a stinky kiln for some
time.
