One other text in the same vein as the woody text is Michael Casson's
the Craft of the potter - a practical guide to making pottery. this is a
good companion text, as it does not altogether cover the same material.
if there is such a thing, they could be called volume one and two
both enjoyable, in a classic way, and make good WC reading

both texts have in common black and white photos that are more than
adequate.
Casson's is a very in depth approach, especially if one wants to throw
large pieces ( big grin )

watching and waiting - for a friend to play with
why have i been alone so long?

cos here there is lots of room for doing
the things you've always been denied
so look, and gather all you want to
there's no one here to stop you trying
