I have a studio in my basement so it is imperative that it be vented well.
I have a hood type vent especially for my oval kiln. Depending on the size of
the kiln to what size blower to have. I have a room exhaust blower mounted
in the ceiling, similar to a bathroom exhaust blower but much larger.
Depending on the size room to what size exhaust blower.[CFM] I also have a
spray booth which is also vented. All this equipment has tubing running to a
Sheet metal box. 2-6in connections for the hood and room exhaust and one 12
connection for the spray booth. The box is mounted in the window. 30x14 in.
On the out side of the box the are slats slanting downwards to prevent the
weather for intruding. I also have a screen mesh to prevent flying intruders
on the inside of the slats.
Any fumes coming form my electric kiln or my reduction kiln are not
welcome in my body or other bodies that are around me. This system works
great.
All this works fine if I remember to open the other window to allow
incoming air so that the exhaust can exhaust.
Spell and grammer police, please have mercy on my text based soul.
