She and her sister are going on a trip to London UK very shortly. She is
wanting to know if anyone can provide names of established potters that
would perhaps be willing to have a short visit from them. She would
contact them ahead of time to make certain that they were agreeable. All
she is looking for is an opportunity to see their work and studio and a
chance for a short conversation. Both of them are longtime potters.
One works mainly in the area of handbuilding the other mainly throwing
and are therefore interested in seeing a mix of work. Any information
about the potters that you could provide (address, phone #, type of work
etc.) would be most welcome. It is their intention to remain within
London, so they are only seeking potters within that area.Is anyone able
to offer any assistance? They are staying with relatives and are not
looking for accomodation only a chance to meet some British potters and
talk about their work.

Hi Chris:

Here is the name of a young British potter who works in porcelain. We met
at the IWCAT program in Tokoname, Japan:

Kate Schuricht
Phone: 0171 419 4217

Also visit the Crafts Council; They have exhibitions, a great bookstore
and a computer program where you can look up various British artists.

Crafts Council

The Victoria and Albert is wonderful, you can spend hours there looking at
ceramics from prehistoris times to modern.

Victoria and Albert Museum
Cromwell Rd., SW7

An interesting gallery which shows ceramics:

Barrett Marsden Gallery

Hope this helps.
