Hi, Mocha - Couldn't retreive your email address to request the celadon
glaze recipes you wrote about, so am doing it on the list. I'd really
appreciate getting them, as I've been experimenting with various glazes that
might have a celadon "look", with no luck.
TIA

I found a recipe years ago in CM from a list by McWhinnie

Cone 3-6 Data Bank Glazes from the U of Maryland

Opague Green 5-6 electric

Dolomite 2.1%
Gerstley Borate 21.3
Whiting 10.6
Custer Feldspar 27.7
EPK 6.4
Flint 31.9

Zinc oxide 3.2
Bentonite 2.1

Tin Oxide 5
Chrome oxide 1

Though I've been told true celedons can only be gotten with reduction firing,
I find this glaze a good pale grey-green on speckled clay/brown clay bodies
fired in 5-6 electric. It will also take on a pinkish cast when fired with
other pieces glazed in blackberry mason stain glaze........hope this helps!
