electric kiln on the floor

Aloha: When I moved in to my current location the bottom of my electric
fully self-destructed while being moved, dust and crumbles. I made a
platform of three layers (just to be safe, two would probably be enough) of
soft brick and set my kiln sections on that. I've had no problems through
25+ firings. Three layers of brick should insulate better than the standard
floor, eh? I think a couple of layers of fiberboard would work great and
lower the kiln for ease of loading. Soft fiber might be a bit unstable and
compressable.
Fortune favors the bold.
