I may have missed it, because I haven't been keeping up - but one thing
that I didn't see discussed is the importance of having your mask fit
tested. I was shocked when my teaching job required it to find that the
mask that I had been wearing for years didn't pass the "banana oil" test -
and that I actually had to try 4 different masks to find one that did! -
Even then it is very important to test the mask every time you put it on to
make certain that there is no unwanted air flow, by covering the air intake
of the mask and suck in to find leaks - and cover the air exit, and blow to
find other air leaks - it's surprising how often you don't have the mask
seated correctly!
If you can find a place to have this test - and it's difficult! it is well
worth it to have the test done. I an lucky that my school has a committed
safety officer, and I encourage all my students to take advantage of her!
