BALTIMORE CLAYWORKS FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY

DEADLINE JUNE 15, 1999

GENERAL INFORMATION

Baltimore Clayworks was founded in 1978 by nine potters and sculptors to =
provide
both facilities and a stimulating environment for ceramic artists. Today it
operates as a thriving ceramic art center housed in a renovated library,
offering studio and exhibition spaces, classes and workshops, and ceramic
supplies. It is located in the northwest corner of Baltimore City, in the
historic Mt. Washington neighborhood.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY FELLOWSHIP

Realizing the need to enrich the existing collective studio with creative,
energetic and artistically diverse ceramists, Baltimore Clayworks is =

setting direction for Clayworks in its critical early years.

The residency fellowship runs from September 1 to August 30 of the following
year. Applications will be judged by a three member jury including a =
resident
studio artist of Baltimore Clayworks, the executive director, and an outside
curator or artist. An in-person interview will be required of finalists =
