I am looking for glaze recipes for a white semi-matte cone 4-6 oxid. with
a "buttery" feel.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Emily,

Here's a nice white glaze that I think fits the bill nicely. It's from
Richard Zakin's book, **Electric Kiln Ceramics** and is called "Warm
Gray-Tan I" but, to my eyes, it's a nice warm white.

Warm Gray-Tan I (Cone 5-6 oxidation)

10 Frit 3134
36 Kona F-4 feldspar
16 Redart clay
18 Gerstley borate
20 Zircopax

Enjoy!

Emily,
Here's a glaze recipe I've given out here before. It was designed to
make nice pinks and maroons with chrome-based stains, but it's about the
surface you're looking for, I think. On a white clay it will be white
as is; on a darker clay you may need to add some opacifier.

Raspberry Base
Custer 27
EPK 9
Whiting 21
Silica 18
Frit 3134 9
Talc 8
Ger. Bor. 8

Happy testing,
