Y2Clay Virtual Exhibition

DeAnza College Ceramics announces a virtual clay exhibit for the year
2000.

The Y2Clay Exhibit is the second international juried exhibition of
contemporary ceramics, which will exist solely on the Internet. We are
proud to present this opportunity to exhibit ceramic work, and hope you
find it exciting as it takes advantage of the new arena of cyberspace
for showcasing photos of ceramic work and text from each artist. As the
Internet continues to expand into our lives and activities, it is
exciting to use this technology to effect both how we make and view
artwork. The Y2Clay Exhibit is an attempt to bring together a wide
array of ceramic art and artists via the Internet and continue to
illustrate possibilities for the visual artist.

Today's exhibition will vary only slightly from its predecessor the

Does anyone else find it ironic that actual slides,
sent presumably via the postal service, are
required for a virtual exhibit? We may be looking
forward to the 21st Century but part of the
process is still stuck in the 19th. -- Lee Jaffe
