Thanks to Arnold Howard who suggested putting fewer pieces on the bottom
kiln shelf for a more even firing. I fired my Skutt 818 yesterday and put
three small pieces on the bottom shelf. The cone pack on that shelf showed
the firing was quite even bottom to top. No more raising the bottom shelf
an extra 2 inches for me!
