I want to try the following Pinnell glaze, with an adjustment to the
cobalt and the copper to make a periwinkle blue, but have dropped a
percentage point or something. The recipe is given below. Please note the
call for 15 Cobalt Carb. I don't know if that is 15%, 1.5%, .15%, or 15Lbs.
If anyone has this recipe written anywhere, I would appreciate it if you
could provide me with the correct number.
It's called Pinnell Strontium Matt Glaze cone 6 Oxydation:
Lithium Carb 1
Strontium Carb 20
Neph Sye 60
Ball Clay 10
Flint 9
For color Periwinkle Blue
Add 15 Cobalt Carb
Add 4% Copper Carb
Thanks,

Hi John:
I believe the Pinnell glaze calls for .15 percent on the cobalt
carbinate.
I made a mistake on that glaze and made up a batch with about 10
times the right amount of cobalt and got a very deep blue. As it turned
out, it is popular with younger people because they say it is denim
colored. It's a very smooth glaze, but I have had some problem with
bubbles.
Good luck.

It should be 0.15% Cobalt Carb and 4.0% Copper Carb. for Periwinkle Blue.

John it must be .15% Cobalt Carb for a periwinkle blue, even the
4% Copper Carb is a little high.
Kind regards, Brian C..
