I get the feeling from all the posts about Japanese pottery that people are
only talking about mingei styles. Just wanted to remind that not all
Japanese pottery looks like Shigaraki or Bizen...just take a look at Kyoto,
Arita and Kutani ware for example. These styles are very refined, thin and
precisely glazed. What are Japanese aesthetics anyway, not just wabi sabi.

Also, mingei is about much more than Japanese style. It is a
more universal approach to craft that can be followed in any culture, any
