I would appreciate recommendations for a digital pyrometer that is good to
cone 10. Specs are the usual: accurate, durable, and reasonably
priced--with expected tradeoffs among these.

At Seward Park Art Studio, in Seattle, we have a Fluke twin lead digital
pyrometer that has withstood years and years of astonishing abuse in a
school environment, and has only had to have the battery replaced. (I'm
talking being dropped innumerable times and a slightly melted plastic
case here, folks..)
These are available from Clay Art Center in Tacoma and Seattle Pottery
Supply, for around $250.00. Good luck!
