Hello Lesley!
Soldate 60 is manufactured by IMCO, which has it's factory in Fairfield, CA.
I misplaced my phone number to this company. I hope another fine Soldate 60
fan will have this number to share with us.
I second the motion for this high-fire clay's plasticity, its ability to take
a lot of slab-rolling, and it's neutral color, which can accept a wide range
of glazes.
Best to you!

Hi,
I get my Soldate 60 from Laguna Clay Co. Are they one and the same? Mike

Hi to All,
Sorry, but there is no IMCO factory or distribution center in Fairfield, CA. The
site is in Sacramento, CA., the address is;
7268 Fransinetti Rd.
Ph. no. 916-383-2811 (out of an old phone book...might have changed)
They are in what used to be known as the town of Florin, but have been
incorporated into Sacramento.

I have been using Soldate 60 for a long time. My favorite mid color
stoneware. It is now made by Laguna Clay and before that it was made by
Westwood Ceramics. Its onlu fault is excessive shrinkage due to its high
sand content. Try it made with 30 mesh sand and fire it unglazed, RIO accents.
