Hi all,

I'm looking for a glaze from a couple of years ago that was in Ceramics
Monthly called Green Patina. It was a cone 6 glaze and was in an article on
texture or special effects glazes. Anybody know off hand what this is?

TIA,

Peter Atwood

I was sure it was a misprint, but the numbers do make 100=25.
This looks like the all-time record for the amount of Lithium carb in a
glaze... and I am somewhat dubious about it.

Would this be a food safe glaze??? I still am learning much from all the
comments on ClayART... Anyone care to send us some warm weather up here to
Vancouver Island --sure would help bring on the tourists... they don't seem
to like it any better than we do. To good Potting.. Faye..

This is not food safe. It appeared about five years ago in CM with Bronze
Metal Patina. Neither are food safe. Barbara

I won't even bother trying this glaze 'cause of the lithium carb =25... =
does
anyone else have a problem with getting their's through an 80 mesh screen?

Hi Patti,

I have run into large grain lithium carb before - better get some finer -
at least 100 mesh.

Beter still - if you have to use Lithium Oxide for a flux get it from
Spodumene, Petalite or such.

Calling the recipe below a glaze is quite a strech - I just assume it's for
appling very thinly to sculpural work - certainly should not be anywhere
near any food - RR
