I was checking the archives for the cone 6 satin matt glazes that were posted
on ClayArt early in June...........found them, however discovered the amounts
of the Frit 3124 and tin oxide were missing.......they should total 25%, but
if someone knows them would you post them on the list? Thanks, Em

Here you are, Emily, right out of Val Cushing's
Handbook : Tin Oxide ........5.0
Frit 3124.........25.0
Doesn't total 25% because after the 100% total, the Tin is added.
Under Comments: "Tin causes colors to break rusty where thin. 2% copper
gives bluegreen glaze Type: CaNaB Firing type Ox or Red"
Color: Semi-Opaque Surface: Semi-satin
In case somebody is new to this thread, guess I should give whole
recipe.
25.00%...............Nepheline Syenite
18.00 ...............Gerstley Borate
02.00 ...............Whiting
10.00................EPK
15.00................Flint
05.00................Zinc Oxide
25.00................Frit 3124
100%................. TOTALS
Also Add......Tin Oxide.......05.00%

Emily...vol.5 num.2...Studio Potter/ Val Cushing, 1976; cone 5-6 oxidation,
Satin Matt, Smooth, Whitish Neph sye 25/ Ferro frit 3124/ Whiting
20/ EPK 15/ Flint 15/ there is no opacifier such as tin in this
glaze. ..."interesting glaze for color. Run tests".Lori in New Port Richey

Val cushing's satin matt, cone 6 is as follows:
Calcium carb/whiting: 20%
Frit 3134: 25%
Neph. Sy: 25%
EPK: 15%
Siliica 325: 15%
Zircopax: 10%
