ceramics in france and germany

Hi Everyone!

I tried posting earlier (last week some time) but since I received no
replies and since I could not find Clayart through the Newsgroup
page/link (at least there were no messages reported to be in it) I
decided to finally subscribe and see what was going on.

(My computer at home could not and still can't handle subscribing to
Clayart so I have to access the group through another computer.)

My question is this...at the last minute:
I am traveling to Europe on Wed June 23. I will be visiting a friend
in Saarbrucken and later Berlin, Germany. We will be spending 3 weeks
or so in the south of France/Cote d'Azur. I have found some
information on ceramics in the area mainly on Biot. Does anyone know
of another town in the area worth visiting for their ceramic
work/galleries/studios etc.?

Any info on the same in northeastern France near Saarbrucken or on
Berlin?

There is just not much information on this in travel books or on the
net.

I would appreciate any information as soon as possible.

:)

Thanks,
Claudia Rice

Cladia Rice,
Look for a "Guuide des Ceramistes" (directory of 700 potters and ceramic
sculpters in France) and the German" Neue Keramik" (lists addresses of
potters. Perhaps a more current directory than my '95 edition will include
pictures of the potters work, as the French guide does.) Hope this reaches
you in time.

Bon Voyage. You're bound to have a great time.
