orton vs seger question

updated sat 26 jun 99

We use Seger cones in Japan and have recently obtained some clay from the US
with firing info based on Orton cones.
Two different reliable references give quite different cone equivalencies.
Can anybody clarify respective cones for 1250 C.
Thanks

1240C is Cone 7 according to the table of Orton standard cones and
temperatures. Cone 8 is 1263C. Hope that helps.
