help! my geil kiln won't light

updated sat 10 jul 99

I've got a show next weekend and i can't get my kiln to light. I've used a
wire to clean out the pilot tube. There's plenty of gas in the tank. The
electronic starter is firing. The valves are open. None of the pilots will
light. The main Ring won't light. It seems like I'm not getting gas flow.
Where do i go from here? I'll call Paul on Tuesday and i"m sure he will help
but i need to fire before then. Any ideas will be gratefully appreciated.
thanks

Lee,

You could have a pesky spider blocking the flow of gas. Not the spider but
the dense weave that encases the next generation. I've had it happen lots of
times and theonly thing that works is to clean it out ...I've found pipe
cleaners work best for me.

Good luck

Neil Moss gave me this idea for keeping spider webs out of the gas orifice -

Welding rods!!!

I bought one rod per burner with the rod diameter just fitting my gas orifices.
I bent loop into one end and sharpened the other end a bit to make it easier
to get that end into the orifice. Slide the rod into the orifice and leave
it there
between firings.
