i have always felt the the ideal location for an oxyprobe is the same place
that you put your favorite set of cones.
each kiln firing should have a set of cones that are in a clean, clear space.
it is the set when things go bad, you know that you can trust them.
i locate my oxyprobe in the upper middle far end from the burners.
i locate my pyrometer there also, and have a set of cones within three inches.
it gives a great triple check.
when you learn your kiln, and trust what you are doing, the probe
is one of the greatest tools you will ever own.
