straw, hay, and unwarrented attacks...

As I understand the difference:

straw can have many uses, bedding or eating,
and is grain stalks, dried

since hay is for horses, ;)
hay is dried, cut grass(no grain head)
sometimes it is salt infused for the purposes
of adding salt to the diet and as a preservative,
ie salt-hay

Hence, depending on the hay, it might be adding salt
to the firing, which you may or may not want

I don't believe that all hay is salt treated.
Any horse-folk out there able to clear this up...

hay comments over...

By the way, the tone of Sharon's response was
uncalled for and probably derived from bad experiences
with teachers who get the cart before the horse and
open up shop before they are adequate. Dont let it
get to you, only you know how often you are stumped
and whether your students are learning.

And don't justify yourself, I don't think it is
necessary...and it never works. Only by our deeds can
we be evaluated, and then only by people in the same
city/studio/space as you, not across cyberland...
