Hi,
This email is me griping so if you don't wanna hear it please delete.
I'm pretty well known
by those close to me as being a patient and laid back person. I've
always felt that it's
just as important to be a good customer as it is to be good to a
customer. I've worked
the service industry for 17 years. I care about the people that depended
on me. I fixed
electronic equipment and always felt that having the equipment fixed
wasn't as important
as having the customer know it was fixed. I live in the Chicago area and
have several
clay suppliers in the area. Of the 3 I've used the service is terrible.
A.R.T. was the first
and the fact that it took 2 months to get a order of 25lbs of premixed
glaze wasn't as bad
as my having to call and bring them up todate that I was waiting on it.
Great Lakes Clay
asked me to order by phone before I came to pick up the order. Seemed
like a nice idea.
They have never had my order ready and I spend more time as they hunt up
the order.
It seems to me there is no excuse for a large clay supplier to not have
any stock of their
clay on hand. I tried 4 bodies that Great Lakes carries and had to
settle for some I didn't
really want. Now I'm using Tucker Clay. Mostly for the fact that Ron Roy
formulated it
and I know Ron cares about how the clay works for me. I ordered a pallet
about 2000lbs
from Shimpo. They had to order it and it took several weeks. No problem.
It came in just
before I left for a weeks vacation. I asked if it would be a problem for
them to hold it until the
Monday after I got back and was told no problem it would be delivered
first thing Monday.
What upsets me is I had to call to find out why the clay wasn't here.
There would have been
no problem if they would have called and let me know what was going on.
Now I'm expecting
it for tomorrow am. I know Shimpo monitors this list and I just want you
to know I'm not mad
I just want to find someplace to order my supplies that I can depend on
to let me know what's
goingon with my order and at least show they care a little.

Looks like I'll end up going out of state. I really feel bad for the
people on the list that are making
a living depending on supplies. What's the minimum order I'd need to
place to order directly from
Tucker Clay?

Sorry. I was looking forward to throwing for a couple of days before I
start back to work.

Marjon Ceramic's in Phoenix, Tucson and Las Vegas are wonderful and they
ship. Many times they can drop ship from point of origin. Phx # 602-272-6585.
They carry just about everything you can think of.

Barney, I don't know if you would like to use a supplier so far I have
found Axner in Florida really good to work with. They have a 1-800 number
and I have even called with technical questions. There number is:
1-800-843-7057.
