paints.
charles pearce, the calligrapher, used many earth based acrylic paints
to write on pots at hay creek this summer.
the results were rather good.
it works as a resist, but leaves a very nice image on the light colored
clays such as porcelain, white stoneware.
we did some combos with shino that were very nice.
will have pix soon.
he just lettered on the bisque ware, good strong coat of i think `goldens`
acrylic.
the browns, titanium, black...etc. that have iron sorta bases work good.
those with chemical dyes...thalo etc. did not work.
it is worth a great deal of experimentation on the part of clayarters.

When a potter says he uses acrylic as a resist..... what material is =
this? Liquid, solid, wax? And where do you buy it?

Hoping you can satisfy my curiosity once we're back on line. =20

Thank you.
Joyce
In the Mojave getting to know a lot of you much better.....

Joyce, I use Acrylic Gloss Medium. Its a liquid. It goes on smoothly, dries
quickly and glaze wipes off well.
