Hi all. Thought I'd pass this along for anyone in the region who might be
interested.

The New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester New Hampshire is hosting
The Collector's Earth: A Survey of Chinese Ceramics in the main galleries
at 148 Concord St.. The show spans 5000 years from neolithic earthenwares
to 17th century porcelain, and it is the first time the pieces from the
private collection of Dr. Peter Greiner, have ever been exhibited.

The show runs from July 16 through August 29th. There is an opening
reception on July 22 from 5-7 pm. There is a gallery talk on Aug. 5th at 7
-8 PM.

Last semester, Dr. Greiner taught a Chinese ceramic art history course at
the Institute.

This is a really GREAT show including numerous tomb figures, guardian
figures, a horse and chariot, landscape models, a stove, as well as all
manner of pottery including celadons, copper reds, peach bloom, three-color
lead glaze, and so on. I don't know tha exact count on pieces..... but
there are quite a few.....I lost track. Plenty to see. Largest scale
pieces are in the four foot range. We are very fortunate to have this
major exhibition located at our school.

This is definately worth the trip if you have an interest in oriental
ceramics.
