hi .... do you have a favourite ceramics website?

I'm just sending this short message to all Clayart subscribers to
declare my presence (rather than simply listening in to the lively
and thoughtful discussions).

I teach art & design to students of all ages in Liverpool, England
where I'm setting up a new ceramics department in the new Arts
Centre. I try to enthuse my students and they certainly motivate me
in return!

My own work is turning back to ceramics after various excursions into
other creative areas in the twenty years since gaining my degree in
Wood/metal/ceramics/glass (3D Design).

I'm trying to get ideas for a ceramics section for our planned
college website. If anyone has any suggestions for good existing
examples of websites that could inspire me, I'd be all ears and very
grateful.

best wishes, Peter.

Hello Peter,

Ceramic site suggestion:
http://www.silverhawk.com/ex99/middlemiss/welcome.html

This site is of one of your fellow countrymen, Jon Middlemiss and is part of
an Internet Exhibit now under construction.
I hope you find the site enjoyable and that you can find concepts that may
work for your college web site. As any artist/craftsmen ( web site building
is also a craft ), I would greatly resent being copied. In Jon's site I've
attempted to provide as much content as possible with good clean design that
downloads quickly and is easy to navigate. Any constructive criticism (
positive or negative is welcome ).

Hi Peter
Our Potfest website has lots of ceramic images, and a cyber-
space ceramic competition that might interest your students (closing
deadline Oct 1st.) Cumbria College graduates always have a stand at
Potfest - it's a good first step into the big bad outside world for
them, and a chance to meet 200 other potters. This year we have potters
from Belgium, Holland, and Spain exhibiting alongside CPA members,
students,full-time and part-time UK potters. Hope to see you there -
come and introduce yourself -
