hello all~~
i've been "lurking" here for a month or so (summer off !) and have been
interested in all facets of these lively discussions. in response to
michael mcdowell's response : your web site is very very nice and the
results you've gotten with the mavica are quite good ; plenty of surface
detail. my experience was not so good and i went back to scanning in
professional slides . it depends on the work, i think.
on my site : http://www.claybabe.com/ i think you will be able to tell
which pieces were taken by the low rez mavica . my opinion on
reflections is that sometimes it isn't such a bad thing, it gives some
dimension to the piece. also, janet, you could try spraying some of
that dulling spray form the photo store on the hot spots. it washes
right off.
good luck

Good points. I might add an inexpensive alternative to commercial dulling sprays
hair spray.
cheers
