Sandra-
Here is a recipe posted last year for a wonderful dark, rich green glaze.
TRANSPARENT GREEN CONE 4-6
Custer Feldspar 38.1
Dolomite 10.0
EPK 9.6
Silica 9.5
Gerstley Borate 9.5
Zinc Oxide 9.4
Copper Carb. 4.9
Mix this so thin that you can see your fingernail and apply thin as it runs
like crazy.
Here is another glaze by the same author which they called Noxema Blue
and that is exactly the color this glaze is.
NOXEMA BLUE CONE 4-6
Custer Feldspar 38.1
Dolomite 10.0
EPK 9.6
Silica 9.5
Gerstley Borate 9.5
Zinc Oxide 9.4
Cobalt Carb 3.5
Mix thin to easily see outline of fingernail. THIN coat as it runs
On second thought, you might not want these in a teaching situation as
students tend to apply thick and you may be cleaning shelves - but for anyone
interested they are very nice glazes that also look good together.
ALSO - are there any Australian potters lurking who are also scuba
divers. I need some inside info on where to go for great diving along your
awesome reef.
Chris - in Carolina - getting ready for a cross country motorcycle trip to
join them bad dudes in Sturgis.

Hi Chris
I don't dive ( I snorkel :) ) but my husband runs a dive charter boat
operating out of Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays Queensland to the Great
Barrier Reef
Contact me on my email rattwell@rocknet.net.au if you'd like further details
Your bike ride sounds interesting - what sort of bike ??
