The Salem Art Association and the Marjorie T. Sherman Community Ceramics
Center are proud to present the following workshops this fall.
CW-800 "Throwing and Decoration with Glenn Burris"
Join Glenn for this exciting and informative workshop where he will
demonstrate his throwing techniques as well as his signature green and orange
glazing techniques.
Sat. 9/18, 10-5 pm. SAA member $30, Non-member $35
CW-801 "Salt Firing with Craig Martell"
Join one of Oregon's premier salt firing artists (as well as virtually
certified Clayart Guru) for this unique workshop. Craig will give a short
lecture on 9/8, and then on 10/1-3 workshop participants will travel to
Craig's studio to load, salt and unload his salt kiln. Participants should
bring a minimum of 6 pieces (3 cu. ft.)
Wed. 9/8, 7-9pm. Fri-Sun 10/1-3, TBD. SAA member $75, Non-member $85
CW-802 "Raku Firing with Mike and Michele Gwinup"
Mike and Michele Gwinup of Bend, OR will lead workshop participants through
the art of Raku firing. The workshop will include a lecture, demonstration
and firing, highlighting the Gwinups' style of making, decorating and firing
Raku work. Please bring 4-5 bisqued pieces to glaze and fire or 1-2 will be
provided.
Fri. 10/15, 7-9pm. Sat. 9am-'till finished. SAA member $75, Non-member $85.
