eglaze and spam

Hi All,

Looks like we all got the eglaze message. For all the grousing about Stan's
lack of net etiquette there has been little said about the positive points
of his site. I found the site to be well designed but a little light on
information which is not surprising for what is presumably a new endeavor.

What I was most impressed with however, was the idea of showing photos of a
glaze then giving the recipe. I have been hungering for a long time for this
type of arrangement. I find it very frustrating to mix up a test batch of
Mary's Blue which sounded great in the description only to find out that
it's a milky bluish off white mess that no one would would ever want on
their pots. If I had seen a picture of the glaze beforehand I would have
saved myself some time and tried something else.

Hopefully someone will either build a site that functions as a database of
glaze photos/recipes or Stan will get it together socially.

On a similar note: I have been getting tons of spam recently and Clayart is
the only list/newsgroup that I belong to. Someone has been harvesting this
list. I wish there was a bullet you could send to these jerks and screw up
their systems.

I couldn't agree more, I am getting cramps in my "clicker-finger" from
hitting the delete key so much.

I have not been troubled with spam (touch wood) though I did get the eglaze
post. There are little programmes out there that crawl over lists picking
up email addresses...spam spiders, if you alter your address such as I have
below then the address they pick up just bounces right back at them (tee
hee). Humans can read the instructions next to your address, spam spiders
can't!

It is nice to see addresses after names as not all email programmes are
capable of giving an individual's address.

Remove the X from the address (there to keep spam spiders at bay)

Where it is raining today....quite a shock after weeks of sunshine, at least
the grass is happy! Do hope the weather is fine next Wednesday when we are
to have a total eclipse of the sun.
