Bill,

You might want to try Clay Art Center http://www.clayartcenter.com/

They list both granular and powdered illmenite.

They always seem to have the hard-to-find items I'm looking for. Haven't
had a problem with them yet.

Bill,
You can buy granular illmenite from New Mexico Clay (www.nmclay.com).
Last year it sold for $2.25 a pound. Since there has been a price increase
in all ceramic materials you might want to check the cost with them. Mia in

Does anyone out there have a source for granular illmenite?
Chip Clawson at the Archie Bray foundation is looking for a source. He wants
to use it in a clay body to do the same job that granular manganese would do.
Chip is not on Clay Art and would appreciate a phone call if you have a
source 800 443 6434.
If you do not want to call please post the source on this list and I cill
call him
