itc on pyrometer protection tube

Anybody, especially ITC gurus,

Will spraying the pyrometer protection tube with ITC affect the accuracy
of the pyrometer's reading? Seems to me it would cause it to read
colder than the actual temperature in the kiln.

I don't remember this being discussed in the ITC threads that have
come up.

No need to coat the protection tube, Richard. But it is a good idea to
coat the thermocouple itself with ITC213. Won't change the reading, but
will increase the life of the thermocouple immensely. nl
